What's the Reason

What's the Reason

What's the reason for starting this blogsite? It is definitely not because there is a shortage of them, there are plenty of great blogsites that I visit regularly which have had an impact on my life personally, not to mention all the ones out there that I will never search for or read about. My reason is a little more personal - maybe even a little more selfish - than that.

I set out to challenge and encourage myself in this personal theological journey, in at least a few ways, the first I'll mention was, 1) To challenge myself to meditate more deeply on God's Word and the topics and issues addressed in it; 2) To push myself to think more clearly and thoroughly in all aspects of observation, and communication; 3) But the main reason behind this endeavor, and my prayer throughout it all, is that my own personal affections for Jesus would be stirred up more and more - through study, prayer, meditation, & writing.

Why couldn't I have just started journaling and kept it all to myself? I believe that we live in a special time in history where online connectivity makes encouraging one another much easier even on a global scale; yes, I could have sat down with my journal and kept all my thoughts where they probably belong, to myself, but if I did that, then I might miss out on the rare opportunity to encourage my brothers & sisters who just maybe are struggling with some of the same questions that I am.

So I decided to put these thoughts out there as an open book to be read by any (and of course along with that, to be judged by any. I would love any feedback anyone might give), with the hope that God would take these simple thoughts, and simple truths and use them for "immeasurably more" than I could ever think or imagine in encouraging His people wherever they may be and in whatever situations they may find themselves.

One of the beautiful things about truth is that it is relevant for all; and it will never stop being relevant, Truth doesn't pass away as if it were only a fad; It doesn't matter where you come from or where you are going, truth is relevant for you, and you are subject to it not the other way around.

I believe that we find the ultimate source of truth in the word of God, the Bible. If the bible is the ultimate source of what is true, than that means it is relevant for everyone. Furthermore, everyone is subject to it and should set their minds to be students of it in all respects.

With that, I set out on this journey my hope & prayer being that God would use this in my life to transform me more and more into the image of His Son and my Savior Jesus Christ; and that my love for him would grow in knowledge and all discernment (Phil.1:9); and if anyone stumbles upon this site and finds themselves encouraged and built up in that same way, then may it be to the praise and glory of Jesus Christ.

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
